The project report !!

The second review was conducted on 13^th February, 2008 and the presentation consisting of the following were presented.

2. Sensor circuit for Neutral Tampering.

3. Sensor circuit for Current Reversal Tampering.

4. Sensor circuit for Magnetic Tampering.

5. Automatic Meter Reading Circuit.

Progress so far

1. Study of microcontroller 8951.
2. Study of GSM modems and decided on the choice of the GSM modem to be used for the project.
3. Study of electricity meters.
4. Designed circuits for the each of the tampering module.
5. Designed circuits for automatic meter reading.

In progress

1. Interfacing the Tampering detection modules to the electricity meter.
2. Interfacing of the automatic meter reading to the electricity meter.

Further, we also intend to work on designing a two way communication system which would enable in a automatic electricity billing process.

Second review – feedback :

1. Questions were raised in regard to the reference point on the rotor disc.
2. A detailed study of the Reed switch was recommended.
3. A question on the practical necessity of the current reversal tampering module was raised. A detailed explanation of the scenario which necessitates the module was given.
