Progress so far
- Study of microcontroller 8951.
- Study of GSM modems and decided on the choice of the GSM modem to be used for the project.
- Study of electricity meters.
- Designed circuits for the each of the tampering module.
- Designed circuits for automatic meter reading.
In progress
- Interfacing the Tampering detection modules to the electricity meter.
- Interfacing of the automatic meter reading to the electricity meter.
Further, we also intend to work on designing a two way communication system which would enable in a automatic electricity billing process.
Second review – feedback :
- Questions were raised in regard to the reference point on the rotor disc.
- A detailed study of the Reed switch was recommended.
- A question on the practical necessity of the current reversal tampering module was raised. A detailed explanation of the scenario which necessitates the module was given.
